Boost Energy, Fight Fatigue, and Enhance Brain Health
By Collin Adams
“I feel exhausted in the morning when I wake up.”
This is an unfortunate yet widespread phrase uttered by many who regularly struggle with over-tiredness and energy depletion.
The difference in productivity on a day when energy is present compared to a day when energy is lacking is significant.
You can scour the internet for hours, searching for the “perfect cure” to end your energy and tiredness problems. But, there lies the problem.
There are too many things to try!
This article aims to provide three simple strategies for boosting your energy quickly to get you back to being your productive, practical self.
Here are 3 Ways You Can Begin to Combat Fatigue in Your Brain
1. Sleep
If you find yourself fatigued while also routinely getting less than 6 hours of sleep per night, consider simply getting more sleep. It can be as simple as this.
If getting regular, quality sleep is an area of struggle for you, try these sleep hygiene practices:
- Deep breathing/meditation
- Hot shower and light stretching one hour before bed
- Less screen time in the evening
- Avoid eating 2-3 hours before bed
Becoming fatigued can result from simply not allowing your body and brain the rest it needs.
If you’re feeling burned out, check on your sleep habits.
2. Hydrate
When dehydrated, your brain needs to work harder to perform basic functions.
Drinking more water sets your brain up to perform at its best, leaving you feeling sharp and focused rather than fatigued.

Here are a few ways to efficiently begin a more consistent hydration routine:
- Buy a new water bottle!
- Buy a water bottle with the times of day listed to plan when you’ll drink your water.
- Make sure your water bottle is nearby at all times. Out of sight, out of mind!
- Gamify your hydration habit. Make it fun!
Consider how much water you’ve been drinking if you’re feeling exhausted.
3. Move
If overwork is your reason for feeling fatigued, it may be best to take some time to rest.
By implementing regular movement practice, you can loosen up your joints and strengthen your muscles, leaving your body feeling and performing at its best.
Not to mention, movement also has an incredible effect on your brain health! When you move and sweat, your brain releases a chemical called bio-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF).
This hormone helps your brain build and strengthen synaptic connections to improve overall brain function and memory!
If you’re feeling run down and tired, simply walk.
If you’re struggling with low energy, low mood, and/or trouble sleeping, consider consulting with healthcare professionals to develop a comprehensive, personalized treatment plan.
